Sashie plays an instrumental role in spearheading the strategic growth of ICTC’s workforce initiatives.
With over 20 years of experience in post-secondary and non-profit settings, Sashie’s career has focused on workforce development, experiential learning, curriculum design, business development, and project management. She joined ICTC (Information and Communications Technology Council) in 2019 and applied a full spectrum of career transition guidance to the highly successful pilot EDGE UP (Energy to Digital Growth Education and Upskilling Project), a short-duration skills development program led by Calgary Economic Development that helped mid-career professionals displaced from the oil and gas industry pivot into Calgary’s growing tech sector.
Her expertise lies in overseeing the planning, coordination, and implementation of workforce development programs, ensuring their alignment with organizational goals and industry practices. She actively seeks opportunities to engage with diverse stakeholders, including industry leaders, educational institutions, and community organizations.
In her role as Director, Workforce Solutions, she works closely with the Associate Vice-President, Skills Excellence, and plays an instrumental role in spearheading the strategic growth of ICTC’s workforce initiatives. She oversees existing programs, leads planning and development efforts, and pursues opportunities for new initiatives, ensuring alignment with labor market demands, skills mapping, and ICTC’s micro-credential strategy.
Sashie holds a BSc. and an MA (Anthropology) from the University of Calgary and has a Certified Career Development Professional designation.
